AN APPEAL: Sri Vidhya's Centre for Special children, a school in Secunderabad (Phone: 27734515) dedicated for training and taking care of mentally retarded children has completed five years of glorious service in January 2004. The Centre has added Hostel facility to cater to children from suburbs etc.. Sri Vidhya specializes in taking care of children with profound disabilities. Sri Vidhya has crossed many milestones since inception and enrolled thirty five students out of which twenty children belong to poorer sections of society paying no fees. Sri Vidhya's capacity to take-in more students is constrained by need for funds to recruit more teachers and ayahs involving increased outgo towards salaries and other provisions (for hostel maintenance )etc., Sri Vidhya is also facing constraints like pressure from landlord for increase in rents at frequent intervals.
